I turned 27...

I'm sorry it has been so long since I posted anything! Things have been crazy! I have been celebrating my birthday, releasing my second album in physical CD form for the first time, working, and wrestling with my neuromuscular disease. Welcome to my seven and twentieth year! I had a great time celebrating my birthday in my hometown with friends and family, and then at my CD release party here in the mountains where my good friends Battle Victorious stopped by on their Tumbleweed Tour. Not to mention a surprise visit from my mom that same day! It really has been a spectacular birthday this year thanks to all my beloved friends and family! Even though my disease graced me with its presence three times last week, leaving me more sore than I have ever experienced and totally freaking people out. Such is my life! Either way, I am happy to have survived another year of life and move on to new adventures!  Now, 27 happens to be one of my favorite numbers so I'm thinking this yea...

musings of the dog obsessed

The Henry Hugglemonster and I sure do enjoy bedtime! Especially after long days of excitement and/or separation. Nothing like coming home exhausted from work to a happy greeting and good, quality, soft, furry snuggling. (I could do without getting jumped on though...we're still working on that one) Goodnight.

Today's agenda : Wear out my over-energetic dog.  Reality : I wore myself out. I'm definitely getting the idea that I should stop hiking alone. I love the quiet enjoyment and the freedom to let my mind wonder and my imagination sore. I enjoy all the memories that flood my head at the sight of a mountain peak I've climbed and dipping my toes in a lake I've only seen from afar. These mountains have become like old friends, and a kind of sanctuary where I talk to God, but I think it's time I take more than God and dog on my walks. Maybe it was everything on my mind, or the very long day I had yesterday, (or both) but my degenerative disease showed up today and I fell. Right there in the dirt, on the trail. It wasn't a paralysis kind of fall, it was a wobbly kneed/drop foot fall that left me walking like a drunken cartoon on the way back. Exhibit A for why I shouldn't hike alone anymore. I made it to my car, no scary business really, just too many dangerou...

Proud Auntie (meeting Kenzie Belk)

My bestie, Katie Lew, had baby #2 three weeks ago and I just got to meet her. She is already rolling over on her own and full of personality! And the beautiful Kaylee is growing up so fast! Katie and I used to dream about living close to each other and raising our kids together. Doesn't look like that is going to happen. Still, I wish I could be closer to spend more time with my besties and all these beautiful children I love so much! It's just not time for me to settle down I guess. God keeps moving me all over the place. Not that I'm complaining about my adventurous life, I just miss certain people. A lot. One day with some of them was just enough to make me want more! "A friend loves at all times" (I can't help it!) Proverbs 17:17a    Treasuring time with besties and babies

the album release

It has begun. Kelly Ann Miller - EP is on iTunes, CDbaby.com, Amazon and other digital stores. You can go to my website and purchase it and soon I will have download card stickers to help me get enough money for a physical release! All that preparation and hard work paid off. What a relief! I am very excited about it too. This album turned out to be spectacular, if I do say so myself. God has blessed this project from the beginning. There were hiccups and challenges and things didn't go as easily or smoothly as I had hoped, but thanks to some generous fans we made it happen! Not to mention, the invaluable business lessons I learned along the way. And to think I only began this because God closed every other door! Well, I'm buckled in now! Ready to see where God takes me on this ride. I'm just asking to be able to pay my bills, but whatever God wants to do with this, I say YES. BUY THE ALBUM

#latergram (Hugglemonster)

A few adorable young triplets came to the tasting room where I work and associated Henry with the Disney Jr cartoon,  Henry Hugglemonster and a nickname was born! Sometimes we are lucky to find the kinds of pets described in many older children's books. The kind that comfort at just the right moments, protect and entertain, and really seem to communicate with you. My Henry Hugglemonster is one such dog.   Defining "man's best friend"

I got home from a great show in Reno and sat down to listen to  the almost finished EP I'll be releasing later this month. There was no sleeping after that! Kirk did such an amazing job with this acoustic EP. So I set to work this morning/last night preparing for its genesis. Took a video, edited a couple videos and posted them on youtube, finished setting my website up with social media links and putting content up for people to engage. All part of the modern marketing strategy. What you all wouldn't know is how terrifying this is! I have put a lot of time and effort into building this business and, like all business, it is dependent on other people for success. God clearly led me here at the end of my rope and has blessed me with a good logical head on my shoulders, but my livelihood depends on the populace. I have medical bills and debt that some people would think is nothing, but for my budget it is over my head. I can't trust the populace to pay me enough to li...
